Menlo Font is a sans serif typeface designed by an American typeface designer. It is named after the Menlo Park suburb of San Francisco. Originally released with Macintosh System 6.0.4, it has since been bundled with all versions of macOS since OS X 10.5 "Leopard".
The font was also included in open-source software releases such as Debian and is the default font for the Android operating system. Menlo is a modified form of the popular Monaco typeface, differing primarily in character widths and heights.
The original release of Menlo used light and bold weights only, with oblique (italic) versions added later. The current version supports both regular and bold weights, as well as oblique styles for each weight. Additional character sets were added in 2012, including support for Cyrillic characters.
Menlo typeface has a complete set of characters including alphanumeric, punctuation, and symbols. The character set is also expanded to include support for most Latin-based languages. This typeface is identical to the cooper hewitt font. This typeface is suitable for headings, invitation cards, and product labels.
