Elphinstone Font is an old-style serif typeface designed by David Nalle of the English type foundry Thorowgood and Co. (later acquired by the Stephenson Blake company). The design is named after Mount Elphinstone, a mountain in British Columbia, Canada.
Elphinstone Font was one of the first typefaces to be cut in Thorowgood's new type-cutting machine and was one of the first old-style serif fonts to be released for commercial sale.
It offers a fantastic online character generator that is ideal for creating various chic characters. Amazing pairing qualities with pt serif font make this typeface ideal for coral drawing, presentations, CSS, and photoshops.
The typeface was very popular in the nineteenth century and was used by some of the most prominent book printers and publishers of the time, including Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press.
