Braggadocio Font was designed by W.A. Wooley in 1994. The design is based on the geometric shapes and forms of early 20th-century industrial typefaces. It has a strong horizontal emphasis and tight spacing. The family includes four weights light, regular, bold, and black each with oblique and roman versions.
This texture is well suited for headlines, display work, and short passages of text. A similar font of this typeface is pantaleones font. It’s particularly good for setting all-cap headlines, where the tight spacing and horizontal emphasis give the text a sense of urgency.
The oblique versions have a slightly different character than the roman weights. They’re more condensed, with higher contrast between the thick and thin strokes. This makes them good for headlines and other display uses, where you want the text to have a little more impact.
If you’re looking for a typeface with a similar feel, but with a little more personality, check out Berlow’s other typeface, Interstate. It has a similar geometric shape, but with more variation in the stroke widths.
